The VCDA / SBDA All Star match was played this week, July 21, 2007 at the
Bench Warmer, and once again the VCDA was able to bring home the
coveted trophy. This seasons match was all the way down to the wire
tied 11 to 11 and a 10 man team 2001 match broke the tie in favor of
the VCDA.
After the first 2 rounds of 5 man
1001 the teams were tied at one a piece, but as usual the SBDA team
took the lead on the Singles Corkers Choice event winning 6 of the 10
legs. They extended their lead by winning 3 of the 5 legs of doubles
Cricket and all but had the match in the bag. The VCDA rallied back
in the doubles 501 winning 4 of the 5 matches and forcing the tie
breaker.
In
the end it was Tammy Arnold who took out the 2001 game with a double
7 double 9. After the match the VCDA team voted for the MVP of the
match with a tie going 4 votes to Tammy Arnold and 4 votes to Tommy
Gunn honorable mentions were Joey Burt, Dwayne Pollock, and Randy
Wheeler.
I
would like to thank Cheri Cignetti and the VCDA for providing the
delicious BBQ, and Bob and Rosie Cobb for cooking all the food. I
would also like to send out a thank you to the SBDA, as many of their
All Star team drove from Santa Maria and as far out as Grover Beach
to attend this season’s event.

All Star Match Report
Feb 10, 2007
For those of you that did not make it to the all star match last weekend you missed some excellent darts. The end result of the match gave victory to the Santa Barbara team with a final score of 14 to 8. Highlights for the day were a Ton 80 thrown by Andy Claire of the SBDA, a Ton 60 by Walt Johnson of the VCDA and numerous Ton 33 + rounds on both sides of the fence. The biggest stumbling block for the VCDA was again the singles match play. With Ventura winning only 3 of the 10. This gave the SBDA team a nice advantage and though we fought back taking 3 of 5 in the doubles Cricket we only managed to win 1 of 5 in the doubles 501. All in all it was an excellent event as always the facility was exceptional with plenty of room and lots of delicious food and drinks for everyone. I would like to make a special thanks to our alternate team mates for making the trip on such short notice. The team was as follows:
